All the founders were working on setting up one of their new venture after rejecting lucrative job offers – all with top IT MNC’s. They had graduated in Engineering from Amity School of Engineering & Technology, New Delhi and were friends since college.
It was during a Nursery Admission season (December 2008), one of the co-founder was asked to deposit a filled-up form of his 3 year old nephew at a school near his home. He was supposed to meet a potential Client in about 2 hours, traveling to the venue alone would take about an hour and half.
He went to the school expecting he would be free in about 10-15 minutes, but as he reached the school he saw a queue of about 100 people waiting to deposit the form. This was his first tussle with Nursery Admissions in Delhi. He ultimately had to wait for about 3 hours and eventually missed out on the meeting.
That's when he thought of the possibility of providing applicants the convenience of applying to schools Online. It would also bring some respite to the staff member slogging at the gate collecting forms, was another thought that occurred with a smile.
After meeting various people – school management, applicants, analysts, angel investors and venture capitalists they got a favorable response to the idea.
From writing a business plan to writing software codes,
admitizer.com has seen quite a time in its incubation. Now its
Phase I is scheduled to go live on
2nd October, 2009 followed by
Phase II on
14th November, 2009.
